Tanuki Girl is currently a non recruitable character in part 2. She is part of the sidequest Four Shrines in which she, on a dare from a Kitsune, ventures into Orochi's Cave. The party finds her huddled in a corner just outside where Yamata no Orochi resides and escorts her back to her shrine, where she stays for the rest of part 2.

In Upcoming Events Tamamo mentions that her leader is planning a war against the Kitsunes.
