Alra Shroom, or Alplants as a companion, is a monster in the second part of Monster Girl Quest: Paradox. She first appeared in the original Monster Girl Quest but Luka did not fight her and offers no Evaluation from the orignal game.

Monsterpedia Entry

“An Alraune that has many characteristics similar to a mushroom. She grows from spores and is able to expand her body endlessly. Communicating with her is very difficult due to her strange voice and laugher. However, she appears to be very joyful.

When she captures a healthy man, she will wrap her body around him and use him as her seedbed. In exchange for pleasure, he will be used to continue supplying her with nourishment. People who become seedbeds are sucked endlessly for nourishment until they eventually perish and decay, in which case Alra Shroom will search for a new seedbed.”

Attacks

  • Attack – One Foe
  • Sweet Hand – One Foe (Luka), Pleasure Attribute
  • Spore Dance – All Foes, Poison (75 %), Blind (75%), Paralysis (75%)
  • Earth – One Foe, Magical, Earth Attribute

Strategy

The Alplants group can prove quite troublesome. You can get between 3 and 4 members at the same time, and each member will only spawn once in the same group. Each of them has a gimmick strategy making her dangerous. However, unsurprisingly, all of them share a weakness to fire and bio. Focus on the one the most dangerous to your group.

Her spore dance can prove annoying with its numerous status effects, but it's actually more impressive than downright dangerous, since there's no real follow-up in her party.

Evaluation

“I feel like this is not the first, but the second time you became the seedbed of a mushroom… Or am I not remembering well? Alra Shroom uses earth elemental magic and status ailment-inducing skills. In other words, she’s quite a troublesome enemy… Being part of the plant family, she is vulnerable to Fire. Bio attacks are also effective, so use them to your advantage. Now go, oh Seedbed Luka. I might use you to grow mushrooms here sometime.”
